Scholarship

This week we are kicking off the 2nd installment of the OH4M Scholarship. Last year, we received an overwhelming number of recipients and business ideas from young adults across Central Ohio. We look forward to this next round and servicing our community once again.

Application Submission Deadline : January 31, 2023
Recipient Selection Date: February 27th, 2023

The Orange Hearts for Makenzi organization has established annual scholarships for minority students’ entrepreneurial endeavors. The scholarship also includes the opportunity to meet with up to 2 professional mentors arranged by the fund to support the development and guidance of the individual goals over the course of the year. An individual is eligible to apply for a one-year scholarship for business-related expenses if one meets the established criteria:

Eligibility Criteria:
Ages 15-22

Minority; Black or African American, Asian, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, American Indian or Alaskan Native
Citizen of the United States
Demonstrates a commitment to serving diverse populations

Requirements
Young adult with an established or in the process of establishing a minority owned business.
minimum of 1 Letter or recommendation
Demonstrates leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other volunteer activities
Submit business plan, by use of template

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

Please complete the application by typing or printing legibly. Only completed and signed applications will be considered. Please submit the following items with this completed application form.
One original letter of recommendation from individuals who are not related to you, the applicant. Such as facility, advisor, or mentor. All must be in original form, and must be signed and addressed to the Scholarship Selection Committee with application.
On a separate sheet of paper, please specify your involvement, and dates of participation, in community service, extracurricular activities, volunteer involvement, and any awards and honors you have received.
On a separate sheet of paper, please prepare a personal statement, not to exceed 500 words, indicating your interest in, how funds will be used to support the business, and the commitment to your goals.
On a separate sheet of paper, submit your business plan using template attached.
